CHINESE AMERICAN CITIZENS ALLIANCE
PHOENIX LODGE ACTIVITIES 2007

Dragon Boat

For the last four years CACA members have been active with the Arizona Dragon Boat Society and with the annual Dragon Boat races.  Twenty-two members made up a team and through the years competed skillfully as they raced not only for medals, but had the fun of competing in a cultural tradition.

Phoenix CACA Cooperation

When the Phoenix Lodge found out about the use of the word “Chinaman “ in an advertising in Tucson, we were there to assist the Tucson Lodge in getting the derogatory phrase and the advertising removed.

Silent Witness Support

The Phoenix Lodge assists a CACA member who was robbed and assaulted in her home. Our members cooperated with the Phoenix Police and contributed to the Silent Witness Fund.

Veteran’s Day

Members help organize the Veteran’s Day Parade which is considered one of the largest in the United States. At the present time, the Lodge is recording the history of our Chinese Veterans who have served in the military.

Miss Phoenix Chinese Queen Pageant

CACA members are involved in helping produce the Miss Phoenix Chinese Queen Pageant during the Annual 4th of July Celebration.

Wah Mei Reunion

CACA organizes an event that brings together many people that lived in the Phoenix area over 50 years ago. Wah Mei Night included a dinner, entertainment, and dancing that brought back many memories of the good old days.

Family Associations

Chinese family associations are an integral part of CACA and the Chinese Community. Many members are involved in positions of leadership and serve the needs of the associations for the Phoenix Chinese Community.
